The video shown below via YouTube, features Griffin taking over the spotlight in a gym with a crowd of spectators. From about the three point area, or a bit inside of it, Griffin lobs the ball up towards the high windows and ceiling area of the gym, allowing it to bounce down in front of the hoop. Griffin then trots towards the basket and grabs the ball mid-air for a forceful one-handed throwdown. Score two for Griffin, with more points based on the "oohs" and "ahs" from the crowd. Just what will he have in store for the Summer Olympics 2012 and opponents of Team USA?
There have been some who are critical of Griffin being selected for the Team USA basketball roster, but in terms of raw power and athleticism, it's hard to argue against this guy. He might not be the best shooter on the planet, but having a guy capable of shoving the ball through the hoop for two points multiple times, is well worth it. That's not saying Griffin will be the factor that helps get wins, but it will certainly add to it. Plus if you think about it, Christian Laettner didn't add much to the "Dream Team," back in 1992, so fans might as well give Griffin a chance this summer. At the very least he'll provide some great highlight reel memories for this team and the US of A.
Are you excited to see what else Blake does in the 2021 Summer Olympics games? Do you think Blake Griffin should be a part of the Team USA basketball roster, or someone else? Who would you replace him with?
