Roberto Luongo is one of the top goalies in the NHL, but the veteran is looking for a trade to a new team after another failed attempt by Vancouver to win a Stanley Cup this past season.
The Chicago Blackhawks have a strong team, but the team has struggled finding a net minder that can lead them through the post-season, a deal to land the 33-year-old could be just what this team needs to win another championship.
Luongo was 31-14-8 with a 2.41 GAA last year with the Canucks, but Vancouver has a terrific young goalie waiting in the wings and the fans and front office want to give the youngster his shot. Luongo has taken the last couple of years hard, despite his solid play. A change of scenery is in the best interest for him and Vancouver.
Chicago is a large media market and that could give the former first round draft choice some trouble, but if he is looking for a new star and wants the opportunity to play for an NHL title, a deal to Chicago is one of the best fits for the veteran.
