Chicago has plenty of story lines heading into the upcoming NBA season. All-Star guard Derrick Rose is out with an injury, but is expected back at some stage this year. The team could also lose center Omer Asik through free agency to Houston and if that happens the Bulls will need to add some depth to their front-court.
The latest rumor from Paul Grossinger suggests the team looks into adding veteran power forward Elton Brand this summer. The 33-year-old averaged 11 points and seven rebounds for Philadelphia last season, but the 76ers didn't offer the veteran a new contract and he is looking to take his game somewhere new this off-season.
Brand is not the player he once was, but adding the veteran would give the Bulls a big body in the paint and a player that can help on both ends of the court. As the team prepares to begin the upcoming basketball season, adding a veteran leader with playoff experience is a good move.
Chicago is looking for help on the bench and picking up the former number one overall pick by the Bulls back in 1999 is a good start and his presence would help this team as they look to stay competitive this NBA season until their star Rose returns.
