The NBA trade rumors of 2012 continue for Dwight Howard. This time a photo has surfaced online of the Orlando Magic big man. Much to the delight of their fans, D-Howard is pictured wearing a Los Angeles Lakers jersey. Is the deal official now?
Over at the NBA on ESPN Facebook fan page, they are showing fans just what might happen. The image shows a smiling Dwight Howard wearing a #12 gold and purple Lakers jersey along with purple arm sleeves. As of this report, the image has nearly 2,000 likes, and about 400 comments. Of course those comments range from straight out hating on the notion, to Lakers fans welcoming it with open arms. Rockets fans are chiming in as well, hoping their team gets the big man.
Right now, nothing is official, but fans are getting to dream of the "what if" concept of another superstar big man playing in Los Angeles. The Lakers previously had Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal co-starring together for "Showtime," bringing 3 titles to the team while they were together. However, if you put Dwight Howard on a team along with Steve Nash and Kobe, that's just a scary thought. The best big man in the league, with one of the deadliest shooters, and one of the all-time best shooters and passing point guards? Can Miami even compete with that in the Finals?
If this happens, most NBA fans might wish for that matchup in the Finals, so the "what if" is no longer a question. That would certainly make for an amazing NBA Finals series in 2013.
Do you think the LA Lakers will land Dwight Howard, or will he stay in Orlando for 2012-13? If the Lakers get Howard are they the favorites to win the title, or is Miami still the team to beat?
