Lakers trade rumors still include Dwight Howard, but now it seems that the Cleveland Cavaliers may help the deal take place. This is big news, because now the Los Angeles Lakers could have the best shot at acquiring Howard from the Orlando Magic in a three-team trade.
According to ESPN, the Cavaliers would be able to acquire center Andrew Bynum as part of the deal, giving Cleveland every incentive to make themselves part of the trade. In exchange for Bynum, Cleveland would send a package of draft picks and Anderson Varejao on their end of the deal.

This is starting to sound like a trade that could really get done, especially if the Cavaliers feel that their current roster is just one major piece away from competing deep into the Eastern Conference Playoffs. A deal like this might require contract extensions from both Bynum and Howard though, in order to keep the Lakers and Cavs happy with their acquisitions.
This trade would be a huge shift from some of the previous deals that the Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets have been rumored to be involved in with Orlando. If Cleveland could become a major player in this deal, it would net Orlando a good group of draft picks that they have been looking for all along.
What do you think about these latest Lakers trade rumors? Do the LA Lakers have enough to convince the Orlando Magic to trade Dwight Howard? Can the Cleveland Cavaliers become the big winners in this deal?
