The Team USA basketball 2012 schedule picks up again with a game on Thursday afternoon. With this latest exhibition game, it'll be Team USA vs. Great Britain, live streaming online and televised from Manchester, England. Will the US put on a clinic or have to make another comeback like they did against Brazil?
The latest Team USA live stream coverage and televised presentation starts up at 2PM EST. ESPN2 will handle the television coverage, while its broadband sports network, WatchESPN, will show the game via video feed online. Fans at work should take care not to let the boss see them watching, since this one is earlier in the day than usual.
In their previous game, the United States faced its toughest test so far with Brazil. Team USA pulled out the 80-69 win, but they were trailing by as many as 10 points in the first quarter. Luckily, the team has a variety of top players like LeBron James and Kobe Bryant who can turn on their superstar performances when needed. According to ESPN.com, Kobe commented post-game:
They came out really counterpunching and taking advantage of our aggressiveness on defense, and they're well coached. They came in with a great plan and executed their plan very well start of the game. We made our adjustments second quarter, kept them to five points, which after the 20-something point first quarter is pretty impressive.
Team USA managed to rally back from that early deficit, down 10 points to win. Part of the team's success in the game was LeBron James, who scored 30 points. He spoke about one particular group of fans who made his experience in this game even different:
You have dreams about being in the NBA. You have dreams about making the game-winning shot at the buzzer. You never have dreams about having the president actually watching you play, because you don't think it's possible. It's definitely humbling, to see him here, the first lady and their kids here to watch us play. Really, it's amazing.
Kobe and LeBron won't have the president watching when they play Great Britain. That early afternoon game takes place in Manchester, England. So far, it appears that they shouldn't have too much trouble with this one, but they may be already preparing for Spain in a week. That team will feature Marc and Pau Gasol, both of who excel in the NBA.
Do you think Team USA will dominate Great Britain, or will it be another close game? What's your final score prediction?
