Alexander Semin, one of the more intriguing NHL free agents, has most experts having trouble getting a read on where the talented winger will play next season.
The latest rumor from Mark Jones of Bleacher Report suggest that the Carolina Hurricanes look hard at signing the 28-year-old this summer. Semin would give the Hurricanes another strong offensive player and the trio of Semin along with Eric and Jordan Staal would give this team one of the top first lines in hockey.
The Russian scored 54 points last season and though that's not the number expected of such a talented player, his offensive skills could help others on the Hurricanes and make this team very dangerous in the upcoming hockey season.
Carolina is looking to become a true contender for a Stanley Cup and the front office has expressed interest in Semin, but have yet to pull the trigger on a deal. With several big name NHL players still available, Carolina would be wise to jump in now and add the high-scoring winger before another franchise grabs him.
