Queen Elizabeth was caught in a bit of a faux pas during the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony in London. As her home Team Great Britain arrived during the Parade of Nations, Her Majesty looked uninterested as she picked her nails.
Of course, she actually entered the Opening Ceremony in a helicopter with James Bond (okay it was her stunt double, but still), so watching the 500 athletes who represent her country may not have been terribly exciting after that. It's also possible that the Queen, 86, was simply tired after the long program.
Unfortunately for Queen Elizabeth and the other British Royals, Her Majesty was shown on national TV intently picking at her fingernails. Oops! Even Royals occasionally have bad habits, obviously.
People immediately took to Twitter to discuss the decidedly unroyal behavior of the Queen of the United Kingdom. The good news for her is that she's the Queen, so she can honestly do whatever she pleases. In fact, perhaps nail picking will now become socially acceptable as the public follows her lead. You don't think so? Yeah, it probably won't change things, will it?
