The United States continued the success in diving in the Olympics with a bronze in the synchronized ten meter platform event. David Boudia and Nick McCrory competed in London after Boudia switched partners. He needed a partner ready for more complex dives. That seems to be a theme among the synchronized diving teams for the US. Boudia was energized by the women's silver in three meter springboard synchro. He tweeted, "Ahhhh!!! So happy for our girls!!" Also, the crowd energy for Tom Daley and Peter Waterfield of Great Britain must have been intense.

Boudia and McCrory were happy with their bronze, which in an era of Chinese dominance, a medal of any color means something. Especially to the men, whose heyday was twenty years ago. "Some would call it a surprise," said Boudia, "but not us." Especially since they beat Daley and Waterfield, the home country favorites. Hopefully these synchronized medals carry over to individual success in the London Olympics. If not, this is certainly progress for US Diving.
