Detroit is a team in transition as the Red Wings look to add some younger talent. The Red Wings still are one of the top teams in the NHL, but adding some more offensive and youth are necessary if this team wants to win another Stanley Cup any time soon.
Elliot Olshansky has reported that Detroit is looking at adding young winger Bobby Ryan from Anaheim as the team lost out on Zach Parise and Rick Nash this summer.
The Red Wings have enough talent to offer the Ducks a good package for the 25-year-old and adding Ryan could have this team challenging Los Angeles and Vancouver for the top spot in the Western Conference.
Ryan has scored at least 57 points in the last four seasons and the youngster has good size, something that will help during the post-season. While Ryan has yet to explode, he is a consistent NHL scorer and a player that makes others around him better and that's the type of players the Red Wings have always liked on their roster.
