The London Olympics 2012 basketball schedule brings the Team USA men back onto the court on Saturday, August 4th. This time it's Team USA vs. Lithuania live streaming online in addition to the televised coverage. The game arrives after a historic blowout by the United States against Nigeria.
The next Team USA live stream game starts at 9:30AM EST on Saturday morning. This time, it's Lithuania who has the tough task of trying to challenge this juggernaut of a basketball team. In the previous U.S. game, they defeated Nigeria by a final of 156-73. That romp made history as the men's Olympics team now owns the all-time scoring record.
Another record was broken as well, as Team USA hit 29 3-point shots in the victory. ESPN reports that Carmelo Anthony scored 37 points to lead the way for the team, shooting 10 of 12 on his 3-point attempts. The NY Knicks management must have been giddy seeing that and hoping it carries over to the 2012-13 NBA season.
Kobe Bryant, used to being the lead scorer for the LA Lakers, spoke about the "issue" the team had in this game:
"When we get hot, it's a big problem. So you have all these guys on one team and then all get hot on the same night, it's tough."
Coach K had to be enjoying having a "big problem" of that sort, and probably hopes they will continue to experience it. Next up for Team USA is Lithuania, another team not expected to make much noise in the tournament. However, the United States will face Argentina on Monday, one of the teams listed as a top 3 competitor in the 2012 London Olympics.
