Current NBA trade rumors still suggest that the San Antonio Spurs could make a deal before the opening of the 2012-13 season. DeJuan Blair is the player that the team could part ways with, especially after he wasn't used very much in their final series of the 2012 NBA Playoffs.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, that isn't fazing Blair too much. He is working very hard in the offseason, trying to improve his jump shot and increase his value as a player in the league. Blair stated that, "They've got me on the trade market and they'll do the best to get me in the greatest situation possible."
His statements make it sound like a trade is already in the works and that Blair could be calling a new team home very soon. He makes just $1.05 million during the 2012-13 NBA season, so it would not be expensive at all for another team to acquire him. It's only a guaranteed contract if he is on a roster on Nov. 1 though, so the Spurs could simply release him if they wanted to.
There are a lot of teams that could use a player like Blair, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Bobcats and Los Angeles Clippers, but no team has pulled the trigger on a deal just yet.
What do you think about these NBA trade rumors? Do you think that a DeJuan Blair trade could really help out a team looking to add some size in the middle? Are the San Antonio Spurs crazy to give up on Blair?
