The London Olympics 2012 basketball schedule continues for the United States on Friday, as they're among the final four teams in medal competition. It'll be Team USA vs. Argentina on live streaming feed and television coverage thanks to the NBC network. Fans are already trying to anticipate which star will step up for the team this time, as there's been multiple players taking over when it mattered most.
The next Team USA live stream game happens Friday, and it comes after a decent victory over Australia 119-86 to reach the semifinals. On the other side of things, Russia will play Spain for a chance at the gold medal game. All four teams are certainly worthy contenders, and deserving of medals at this stage in the games. The United States has continued to display the ability to do whatever it takes to win, and allow a new player to get the spotlight in almost every contest.
For the U.S. team, their latest hero was Kobe Bryant who finished with 20 points. Kobe had seemed to take a lesser role up until this game. However, LeBron James also made history on the same night, recording the first ever triple-double in U.S. Olympic history.
As far as Kobe's recent "missing in action" label at the summer games, NBC Olympics site reports that Carmelo Anthony took some credit for igniting his teammate's fire, saying:
"I kind of knew what button to push with him. I was talking to him at halftime and in the third quarter and I guess I pushed the button. He woke up and to see that, I've been on the other side of the ball and had that situation before."
The great thing about these 2012 London Olympics men's basketball games has been there seems to be a different player who emerges as the hero each and every night. The latest to get the headlines was Kobe Bryant. In previous games, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Carmelo Anthony have all had the spotlight. That goes to show there isn't one star really guiding the team, per se, even if LeBron is considered the leader.
The next Team USA men's basketball game against Argentina takes place on Friday, starting at 4PM EST, with the NBC Sports Network covering the game on television. Fans who have this channel as part of their cable or satellite package can also watch the game online streaming live via the NBC Olympics website.
Team USA basketball fans, do you expect the U.S. to cruise to another double-digit win, or will Argentina give the United States a tough challenge in the semis? Who will be the star player of this game?
