The LA Lakers have searched for a young athletic small forward for years and despite the team having a good group of veterans, the NBA is becoming too athletic for mid 30s players to produce the numbers necessary to win a title.
Kyle Ramos of Bleacher Report suggests the team look into adding youngster Donte Greene this summer. The 24-year-old is entering his fifth year in the league after the Sacramento Kings decided to let the former first round pick test the free agent market.
At 6'11", Greene has terrific size and is very athletic, but something is holding him back and a change of scenery could improve his numbers. The youngster averaged 5.4 points and 2.5 rebounds for the Kings in just 14 minutes of action each night, but a bump up in minutes could see those numbers increase significantly and adding Greene would give the LA Lakers some depth at small forward and some much-needed youth on their roster.
The LA Lakers are searching for players that can help this team win another NBA title and adding a player like Greene could help this season. Look for another move or two this summer by the front office as they look to get the right chemistry together for a run at Oklahoma City and Miami in the upcoming basketball season.
