The Dwight Howard trade rumors are about to become a reality if you believe some NBA sources. According to ESPN, a four-team mega-deal is "very close" to taking place. In fact, they are stating that the final terms of the deal could be agreed upon by Friday (August 10).
This is huge Thursday night (August 9) news that would re-shape four teams and includes several players that are still taking part in the 2012 London Olympics. In the new look to the proposal, the Lakers would send Pau Gasol to the Orlando Magic and Andrew Bynum to the Philadelphia 76ers in order to make the deal work. The Lakers would be getting Howard as well as forward Al Harrington from the Nuggets.
As for the other parts of the deal, the Magic would also get guard Arron Afflalo from the Nuggets and Andre Iguodala would go from the 76ers to the Nuggets. It is also expected that several draft picks would go to Orlando as the team tries to open up the newest chapter for the team. Getting Gasol back isn't the worst news in the world for Magic fans either.
This is a huge deal and would end up with the Lakers having Howard, Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash to try to compete with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference. Denver gets a lot better in the trade as well, because Iguodala certainly brings a lot of talent to the court.
Do you think that these newest Dwight Howard trade rumors will actually lead to a deal taking place? Out of the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers, which team do you think comes out on top in this deal?
