Colorado had a successful season last year in the NHL despite missing the playoffs, but the team had trouble putting the puck in the net and a move or two this summer could have the Avalanche battling for a spot in the Western Conference Playoffs in the upcoming hockey season.
The latest rumor from the Denver Post has the Avs looking at acquiring Bobby Ryan from the Anaheim Ducks in a move that would give Colorado the scorer they need and a young talent that could help lead this team for several years.
The 25-year-old has a knack for putting the puck in the net and could make the players around him even better. The deal suggested by Adrian Dater would have Ryan moving to the Avalanche and the Ducks acquiring center Paul Stastny and likely one other player in a move that could help both franchises.
The NHL is gaining momentum with a larger fan base and better ratings and having a player like Ryan move to Colorado will only help as the Avs are one of the most followed teams in the league and having them in the hunt for the post-season will only help the league become even more popular.
