The PGA Championship 2012 leaderboard still has Rory McIlroy holding on to a three stroke lead at the beginning of his fourth round play. Sunday (August 12) is going to be a very competitive day on the course at Kiawah Island Resort, with CBS providing some good coverage of the event.
After a very impressive round of 67 on Saturday (August 11), McIlroy was able to take a three-stroke lead into the final round of play. Carl Pettersson has a four-under-par heading into his fourth round. That is the same score that Ian Poulter was able to move to with a three-under-par start to his fourth round.
With the fourth round underway, only 19 golfers had scores under par, but many of them are within striking distance of the leaders. Some of the big names in the group of contenders include Adam Scott, Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh and Graeme McDowell. All eyes are going to be on McIlroy, though, to see if he can hold on to that lead into the final stretch of the fourth round.
Keegan Bradley was the winner of the 2011 Championship, but he is tied for twentieth place at even par midway through his fourth round. He would need to make quite a run to get back into the mix for the 2012 title.
