This summer has seen some major player changes in the NBA and the recent Dwight Howard trade has changed the overall landscape in the league, but is it enough to have the LA Lakers overtaking the Miami Heat?
LeBron James won his first title in the league this past season with the Heat and the front office for Miami has added even more talent and until another team knocks them off, this team will enter the upcoming basketball season as the top team in the league.
The LA Lakers will look very different this season with all the changes made this off-season, but chemistry plays a big role in team sports and this team could struggle for a while as they find their identity, but they should make a run at a title this season and will enter the year as the top team in the West.
Oklahoma City is the best young team in the NBA and after making it to the Finals last season, only winning a title will elevate this team to the top. The challenge from Los Angeles and San Antonio will make it tough this season, but the Thunder have enough talent to win it all this season.
While these three teams are expected to challenge, teams like Chicago and Memphis have done little to improve and could drop in the rankings in a big way. This season will have some great story lines and all the moves should also help the league and its ratings in the upcoming year.
