In the latest of the WWE Summerslam 2012 spoilers and predictions heading into Sunday, it's being rumored that The Undertaker will have an opponent for Wrestlemania 29 in 2013 by the end of the show. Just who could possibly face Taker, other than a third showdown with Triple H?
According to a Bleacher Report article, it may very well be The Game's opponent at the Pay-Per-View this Sunday, Brock Lesnar (said in Paul Heyman voice). Fans may have noticed that Shawn Michaels mentioned Taker's name to Triple H last night as one of the tough superstars that he's faced, but then said "this guy's on a whole other level," in reference to Brock. That may have stirred up The Deadman from wherever he was watching Raw.
The report from BR indicates a rumor from WrestleZone.com suggesting that Taker will make a return to TV around Survivor Series in several months. He was last seen teaming up with Kane on the historic 1000th episode of Raw, in an in-ring display of what the "Brothers of Destruction" can do to opponents. However, his last match was against Triple H at Wrestlemania 28, extending an impressive undefeated streak to 20 wins, 0 losses. Could Lesnar make for number 21?
It seems that there's no other huge opponent left for Lesnar, besides The Rock. If anyone is to defeat Rock at Mania, it'll likely be John Cena in a rematch. As for Lesnar, one might speculate that he actually defeats Triple H at SummerSlam, giving HHH some time off from his TV role. However, fans really want to see The Game destroy Brock after what he did to Michaels, so it remains to be seen. Nonetheless, it should be interesting to see how WWE sets the stage for this one.
A good scenario would have Lesnar appearing in-ring with Heyman on an episode of Raw talking about how Brock doesn't have any opponents left to bother fighting. Out of nowhere, the lights go out, the gong sounds, and when the lights return, there's the Undertaker, staring down Lesnar. It's got that big match in the making feel to it, and fans would definitely buy into it. If and when it gets done, it will add yet another compelling reason for fans to buy the Pay-Per-View too, and that makes Vince McMahon happy.
Who do you predict to win the Brock vs. Triple H match this Sunday? Do you think Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker will happen at Wrestlemania 29?
