New Philadelphia 76ers rumors address whether a second Andrew Bynum trade is coming or whether the team can get their young center to agree to a long-term contract extension. At first, the acquisition by the 76ers as part of the bigger Dwight Howard trade seemed like a rental, but maybe the franchise can convince Bynum to stay.
According to Philly.com, Bynum just got introduced by the team for the first time and he had a few choice words to say at the press conference. Bynum told the reporters that, "To be honest, my first experience here's been so great, I'm really looking forward to making this my home."
Now those comments from Bynum are definitely what you hope to hear from a new player at a press conference like this, but it could also be indicative of a superstar that has finally found a place that is comfortable to him. Bynum always seemed like the "third wheel" while playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, so maybe he is finally getting treated with the Royalty he feels that he deserves.
If Philadelphia can somehow convince Bynum to stay there, the team would have the best anchor in the Eastern Conference. Provided Howard stays in the Western Conference, Bynum could easily become the starter at All-Star Games for years to come. That would be just fine by the fans in Philadelphia, but if he can help them find success in the postseason again, his jerseys are going to be flying off the shelves.
What do you think about these Philadelphia 76ers rumors? Is the Andrew Bynum trade going to pay off for the team in the long-term?
