The latest NBA Lakers rumors take a look at something that could be proven true once the NBA season rolls around. With LA's additions to their starting lineup of Steve Nash and Dwight Howard, is it possible this is the best lineup in all of the NBA?
As the recent D-Howard rumors have involved coaching news and Orlando's conundrum over how to replace a star of his stature, the Lakers are on the opposite end of the spectrum. They have a team built to destroy all opponents in their way, en route to another NBA championship for the storied franchise. They've added a two-time NBA MVP and passing wizard in Steve Nash, and the defensive and frontcourt abilities of D-Howard. Oh yeah, there's also a guy who was already there named Kobe Bryant, along with Pau Gasol.
The latest Bleacher report speculation states:
"Three combined NBA MVP awards, 33 combined All-Star appearances, eight combined NBA championship rings and four combined Defensive Player of the Year awards make the starting lineup of the 2012-2013 Los Angeles Lakers the best in the NBA."
It's hard to argue with that logic, although Miami can make a strong case as well. The Heat's lineup includes a Big 3 of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh, with recent additions such as Ray Allen or Rashard Lewis as interchangeable components. Udonis Haslem is certainly no Dwight Howard or Pau Gasol, but has proven his merit in Miami.
The best thing about this debate and these two teams, is they seem destined to finally meet in the Finals, making for the epic battle all sports and NBA fans truly want. Last year's OKC vs. Miami battle was pretty sweet, pitting the top scorer against the top player (sorry Kobe), but this upcoming season's Finals could be one for the ages. Two teams that are top heavy on talent, and two starts looking to prove they are the best of all time.
So let the debates continue about which starting lineup will reign supreme in the NBA this season. However, truth be told, the talking will be done on the court.
Do you agree that Los Angeles has the best lineup in all of the NBA, or does Miami?
