Several WWE SummerSlam 2012 results have been decided already during the first one third of the big Pay-Per-View. These include a championship on the line, as well as several grudge matches from the card. Did any championships change hands during these?
Three SummerSlam match results have already gone down for the main PPV event, in addition to the pre-show match. Leading off the show was Mr. Money in the Bank, the "Show Off," Dolph Ziggler, as he went up against Chris Jericho. In this feud, Ziggler kept taunting Jericho for weeks saying he was unable to win the big one. Well that didn't hold true tonight, as Jericho managed to win the match despite taped ribs. In the end, both stars got their finishers in, but it was the Walls of Jericho that finished off Ziggler, making him tap out.
Another match that went down involved Daniel Bryan taking on Kane. Bryan continued to weather a storm of "Yes" chants from the fans in attendance, and managed to outsmart Kane. The close of the match saw Bryan wisely counter and block Kane's attempted Tombstone, in order to roll him into a small package pin. However, this one's far from over as Kane stormed backstage looking for Bryan after the match. Kane even tossed interviewer Josh Matthews out of the way in the process.
As for the championship match, The Miz defended his title against Rey Mysterio. As many fans know, Miz is scheduled to appear in "The Marine 3" as the main character. This one saw counter after counter with the Intercontinental title up for grabs. However, The Miz managed to toss Rey face first into the turnbuckle and hit the Skullcrushing Finale for the win. With that, The Miz continues his latest title reign, which will supposedly help him promote his new movie.
That leaves plenty of big matches still. The World Heavyweight title and WWE titles are both up for grabs, as well as the "perfect storm" match between Brock Lesnar and Triple H. It should only get more exciting from here!
