The 2012 NCAA College Football season kicks off this week with some terrific games. Alabama enters the year as the top-ranked team in the nation and will begin the year against the Michigan Wolverines Saturday night.
The action actually begins on Thursday night with 17 games, but just one features a ranked team as the #9 South Carolina Gamecocks travel on the road to face SEC foe Vanderbilt.
Friday night has a limited schedule of five games and features one of the top games of the opening week. Michigan State opens the 2012 season as the #13 ranked team in the country and they play host to Boise State, who despite the loss of several big name players, enter the year ranked #24.
After a full slate of games on Saturday, the college football week concludes with two games on Sunday and the last contest on Monday that will feature a big game between Georgia Tech and #16 Virginia Tech.
Fans all across the nation have waited months for the start of the season and now all the action kicks off this week. Great stories, upsets galore, and the crowning of a new champion is all at hand, and for schools big and small it begins on Thursday night.
