In last night's WWE SummerSlam 2012 results, John Cena and CM Punk were part of a Triple Threat match for the WWE Championship, which also involved Big Show. Show ended up the one getting beat, twice, with Punk retaining his title. Since the match has finished, everyone's had some time to reflect on the loss, which will likely carry over into Monday's episode of Raw.
The SummerSlam match results saw a finish in which both Cena and Punk had submission holds on Show, and then the match was restarted. Cena hit a finishing move on Big Show, but then Punk tossed Cena out of the ring and stole the pinfall, to retain his title. Cena basically shook his head in disbelief after the match, while Punk celebrated with the fans.
It's clear John Cena was probably none too happy with the results of his match, which saw Punk steal the victory away, pinning Big Show in the final moments. Cena took to Twitter to give his post-match reaction, earlier this afternoon:
"Happy 25th birthday #SummerSlam I wish things had turned out different, but can't dwell on past. Time to #hitgym and #moveforward."
Meanwhile, the reigning WWE Champion tweeted:
"I Love @JohnCena saying I got lucky. It's not luck, it's skill. With the odds against me, I won. Not once, but twice. Gotta #respect that."
It's clear from John Cena and CM Punk's tweets that this feud is not over by any stretch of the imagination. Punk continues to seek out "respect" from the WWE Universe by blatantly trying to take it, while Cena is still in search of that title he held almost a year ago. It's looking like these two will be on a collision course for Night of Champions in September 2012, with the WWE title on the line again!
