The 2012 LLWS brackets head into Day 6 of the competition on Tuesday (August 21). In the first five days of the competition, four teams on each side have been eliminated, leaving just eight that can possibly win the 2012 Little League World Series championship. That has already cut the field in half and two more teams are about to get sent shopping for school supplies on Tuesday.
The Day 6 brackets reveal that three games will take place during the day, beginning with a consolation game beginning at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN. The MEA will take on Oregon (Northwest) in a bonus game to allow the kids to all participate in one more game. This game is outside of the brackets, so it is just for the fun of playing baseball.
In the International bracket, Caribbean takes on Mexico at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN. Both teams are now 2-1 and trying to work their way through the bottom of the bracket for a second chance at the winner's bracket. On the United States bracket, California (West) takes on Connecticut (New England) in an 8 p.m. ET game on ESPN2. It's a pretty good game on paper, with the New England team bringing a pretty well-rested pitching staff to the table.
Which games in the 2012 LLWS brackets for Tuesday are you excited to watch? Which of these teams do you think has the best chance to emerge from the loser's bracket to contend again?
