The NBA is not always good to young players, especially those whose game doesn't fit with the franchise that drafted them. Jimmer Fredette is one young player not fitting in with his team in Sacramento, but several talented youngsters from all over the league are in sticky situations, and a trade could be their only way out.
Here is a look at the top youngsters in the league that could demand a trade during the upcoming basketball season. While some are for more playing time, others are for what has happened of the court, and that could lead to some bad chemistry in the locker room.
Eric Gordan is just 23 years old and one of the best young shooting guards in the league, and he thought he was becoming a Phoenix Suns player this summer, but the New Orléans Hornets came in late and matched the offer, keeping the youngster locked in with the team. Gordan, however, had resigned himself to moving on, and that could still happen if this team doesn't compete this season.
DeMarcus Cousins is a talented center, but the 22-year-old has never been happy in Sacramento, and another year of losing and off-court issues could lead to the Kings trading their young big man. Cousins could dominate if his head was right, but that is not happening in Northern California, and it might be best for the two sides to just part ways.
Professional sports have always had players looking for greener pastures, but the NBA has more movement than most. These players are in situations that could affect their game, and teams often move these youngsters just to keep the problems from spilling over to the locker room. Making it very possible that a new team is in their future.
