The 2012-13 NBA season is still a couple of months from getting started, but with all the free agent signings, trades, and the new rookies coming into the league, teams are moving all over the place in the latest power rankings.
NBC Sports has done a terrific job in ranking all 30 teams after the madness of the off-season and though the LA Lakers made the most headlines this summer, they are not the top team in the league.
Miami won a title this past season and for LeBron James and his fans, it couldn't have been a sweeter season. The Heat are looking to win another championship and with the recent addition of Ray Allen, Miami is entering the upcoming basketball season as the top team.
The LA Lakers did make several changes since the end of last season, but as Miami found out in 2011, chemistry can play a big role in a successful season. Dwight Howard, Antawn Jamison, and Steve Nash will make this team dangerous, but how they play with Kobe and Pau Gasol will decide if this team is destined for another NBA Championship.
On the other side is Charlotte. The Bobcats won just seven games last season and though they made some good moves this off-season, this team still lacks the talent necessary to make a big move forward. The Bobcats will win more games in the 2012-13 season, but will it be enough to escape the wooden spoon as the weakest team in basketball?
