Interesting MLB trade rumors include a possible Shawn Marcum trade coming from the Milwaukee Brewers. According to FOX Sports, the Brewers placed Marcum on waivers Tuesday (August 28), setting the stage for another late season trade.
A lot of buzz is going to surround Marcum's next start, which is scheduled to come on Thursday afternoon (August 30) against the Chicago Cubs. He has only pitched on game in the last two months because of elbow tightness, but he did go five innings without giving up an earned run in that start against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
If Marcum clears waivers, the Brewers can deal him to any team in the league. There is a strong chance that he will get claimed though, meaning the Brewers would only be able to work out a trade with the claiming team. Marcum certainly has the potential to help out a contender, with teams like the Washington nationals, LA Dodgers and Detroit Tigers really looking for another starting pitcher.
During the 2012 MLB season, Marcum has posted a 5-4 record, 3.19 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. If he can stay healthy, those are numbers that any team in contention would love to have.
What do you think of these MLB trade rumors involving Shawn Marcum? Could Marcum be a perfect fit to help the Washington Nationals when they shut down Stephen Strasburg?
