MLB trade rumors from Friday (August 31) include a possible Philadelphia Phillies trade of outfielder Juan Pierre. According to FOX Sports, Pierre has cleared trade waivers, meaning the Phillies could deal him to any other team before the midnight deadline.
Pierre isn't exactly setting the world on fire, but he is good enough to make an impact for a team needing an outfielder. So far this season, Pierre is hitting .300 with 32 stolen bases in 333 at-bats. Those are pretty good numbers and definitely something that could help out a team like the Cincinnati Reds or San Francisco giants in the final month of the season.
As the Phillies continue to flounder in the National League East, another franchise might be able to pry away Pierre for next to nothing. He can definitely create a lot of chaos on the base paths and that might be perfect for a team like the Reds. The Phillies have until midnight Eastern on Friday night (August 31) in order to make a deal, otherwise Pierre will remain on the Philadelphia roster for the rest of the regular season.
What do you think about these MLB trade rumors? Do you think that a Juan Pierre trade could be what another contender is looking for?
