According to JennyChaser.com, D-Howard made his appearance on stage early during MTV's 2012 Video Music Awards on Thursday night. He joined comedian Kevin Hart on stage, and delivered his first speech towards some of the fans he'll have supporting him this season. Howard said:"I can't wait to put on that Laker jersey and go to warÂ…I want to thank ya'll for welcoming me to LA, this my new home, we're going to have a great year this year."
After addressing the Staples Center crowd, Howard then told Kevin Hart he brought him the first official Dwight Howard jersey to put on. Hart was excited at the prospect and upon unfolding the jersey and finally getting it over his body, found out it went down towards his ankles, much like a skirt. Hart joked that they'd see who's laughing when Kobe Bryant doesn't pass him the ball.
It's good to see that Dwight Howard can make public appearances, although if this had been Orlando, they clearly wouldn't have gone for that. Having Howard appear in Orlando may have resulted in eggs, tomatoes or other objects thrown towards the stage. However, MTV seems to know how to keep both music and pop culture relevant, so give them props for this particular appearance at this particular venue. Give Howard props for being a good sport and appearing live.
