Just when NY Knicks fans thought their team was moving in the right direction, news has come out that owner James Dolan could have Isiah Thomas return to the storied NBA franchise.
The New York Post has broken the story of the two men meeting this week, but it was still unclear what the two sides were doing or if a job offer was involved.
Thomas ran the team from 2003-08 and most basketball experts would agree that his time there had few positives and that the former player actually ruined the franchise.
The team recently announced that Scott O'Neil was leaving as president of Madison Square Gardens, the meeting between Dolan and Thomas comes at a very interesting time. The NY Knicks have become a legitimate NBA Playoff team over the last couple of season and bringing back Thomas could put a damper on everything the team has tried to do since Thomas left the franchise.
While all of this talk is just speculation, Thomas has always expressed an interest in returning to the team and with the team's head coach and GM both ex-college players with Thomas, there could be much more to his return than most experts think.
