Should the Dallas Cowboys Send Felix Jones to Tennessee Titans?

Step by step it seems the confidence the Dallas Cowboys show in Felix Jones lowers. Having already lost the starting running back job the time may have come to give him a chance elsewhere. Is the Tennessee Titans a good spot?

The return of Mike Jenkins to the defense usually would excite many Dallas players. For Felix Jones though that return could have a negative effect on his playing time. The 25-year-old spent last season losing his job to undrafted free agent DeMarco Murray. This season he could have at least carved out his own roster spot by taking over kicking returning duties. After a subpart showing in the opening game against the Giants there are whispers the Cowboys might shift their returning lineup. Rookie corner Morris Claiborne could take over that job while Jenkins assumes the starting role on defense. Some argue this means Jones will likely see more action on offense but not if Murray stays healthy and not with Tony Romo and those receivers. Good teams usually don't like paying almost $2 million to a backup who doesn't play and can't stay healthy. Could this mean Dallas looks for trade options moving forward?

Issues with Chris Johnson and Javon Ringer leave Titans hurting

One team having their share of issues at running back are the Tennessee Titans. Many fans had hoped 2011 was just a bad blip for their Pro Bowl star Chris Johnson. After opening day things look as bad as ever. Johnson managed only four yards rushing against the New England Patriots and his backup Javon Ringer has serious problems with an arm infection. So bad in fact that reports from doctors say he could actually lose the arm if the problem isn't fixed soon. Throw in a shoulder problem for quarterback Jake Locker and it's hard seeing the Titans offense doing much against the San Diego Chargers or anybody else. So could a trade for Jones help them? History shows that players often do well when given new life someplace else. Cedric Benson overcame his injury-riddled time with the Chicago Bears to post three-straight seasons of over 1,000 yards rushing. It isn't impossible to think a first round draft like Jones doesn't have the drive and the talent to help fill the void for Tennessee and at least push Johnson. In return Dallas could get an extra draft pick for next season.

Felix Jones hasn't done the job for the Dallas Cowboys but that doesn't mean he is worthless. With Javon Ringer hurt and Chris Johnson hapless the Tennessee Titans might find use of him this season.
