Chicago and its fans have never been enamoured by forward Carlos Boozer, and with the changing landscape of the NBA, the Bulls could look to move the veteran and bring in some fresh talent.
Ernest Shepard of Bleacher Report has suggested the front office for Chicago looks into adding Josh Smith of Atlanta. The 26-year-old is entering the last year of his contract, and trade rumors have swirled around him for the last year.
Smith averaged 18.8 points and 9.6 rebounds last season for the Hawks, but his playoff showing is what would have the Bulls interested as he averaged 17 points and 13 rebounds last year.
Smith is a bit of a headache on and off the court, but Chicago needs another dynamic player in their lineup, and with Boozer showing little heart since his arrival in the Windy City, moving the power forward for Smith could actually help both teams in the long-run.
While this deal is truly just speculation, the NBA could use another blockbuster trade before the season begins, and this trade would give the Bulls fans some hope this season as they await the return of injured All-Star Derrick Rose.
