With NBA teams getting ready for the start of training camp, trade rumors are beginning to hit social media, and while most are just speculation, some just make sense and should be looked into by teams.
The latest from Bleacher Report writer Ben Lorimer suggests that if Oklahoma City can't resign James Harden, the Thunder should look into trading their star sixth man to Charlotte for this year's second overall draft pick, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.
Harden is looking for a big money deal, and Oklahoma City doesn't look ready to make such an offer, and moving Harden before the trade deadline will a least get the Thunder some talent in return.
Charlotte was rumored to have made an offer just after the NBA Draft for the young guard, but the deal never happened. Harden averaged over 16 points per game coming off the bench last year, and now that his contract extension talks have gone public, moving him before the start of the season could become the best move for the team.
The Bobcats are in desperate need of talent and could offer another draft pick along with Kidd-Gilchrist, and a deal like that is something the Thunder would really need to take a long look at as the start of the regular season approaches.
