Several NBA veterans thought to be past their prime are making a splash in the league this season and a few of these former stars are available off the waiver wire. Fantasy basketball owners can make up ground quickly with the right moves and knowing who is hot and the number of games each team plays in a given week are essential.
Here is a look at the top waiver wire options this week and how these players can help owners in the coming week or in some cases, the rest of the 2012-13 season.
Richard Hamilton was an afterthought during the draft process, but the veteran shooting guard is making the most of his chance with the Chicago Bulls. Rip is averaging 17 points per game over the last two weeks and 14 points for the season and is still available in most leagues.
Aaron Brooks is the new starting point guard for the Sacramento Kings after a year playing in China. Brooks is a decent shooter and rebounder for a guard and will give owners some solid numbers in most statistical categories.
Another veteran making a solid return to the floor is Jermaine O'Neal of Phoenix. While his playing time is not what most owners are looking for, his 21.3 points and 12.9 rebounds per 48 minutes of playing time rank high in the NBA and is a good option for owners needing depth in their front court.
