New York Knicks rumors address the Carmelo Anthony injury that took place Wednesday night (Dec. 5) against the Charlotte Bobcats. In the fourth quarter of the game, Anthony had to leave after suffering a laceration on his left middle finger.
Anthony was forced to head to the locker room with the game on the line, leaving it to J.R. Smith to come up with the heroics. Smith hit a shot right at the buzzer to give the Knicks an impressive 100-98 win and an Eastern Conference leading 13th win.
As for Anthony, he had to have five stitches on his non-shooting hand, all because he was showing a lot of effort on the court. The injury happened when Anthony dove out of bounds to try to save the ball, showing that he really is willing to sacrifice his body for the team this season.
There hasn't been an announcement about whether Anthony will miss any time, but it is certainly an injury that could hinder him on offense. The Knicks don't get any time off, though, as they travel south to play the Miami Heat on Thursday night (Dec. 6).
The Knicks certainly cannot afford to lose Anthony for any length of time, but it is certainly possible that they will figure out a way to bandage his hand that will allow him to take the court against the Heat. Until that announcement comes out, it could create a lot of stress for fans of the team.
Do you think these New York Knicks rumors could be very bad for the team? Will this Carmelo Anthony injury turn out to be something that doesn't affect him at all?
