2012 NBA trade rumors about a DeMarcus Cousins trade are nothing new, but with the Sacramento Kings really souring on their power forward, maybe a deal is actually closer than ever before. On Monday (Dec. 24), Cousins talked about really wanting to stay with the Kings, but maybe he is simply realizing that his stock in the league has hit an all-time low.

It has been suggested that many teams needing a center or power forward would have a lot of interest in acquiring Cousins and one of those teams in the Boston Celtics. The Celtics are a franchise desperate to get better through young stars, especially with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce really getting up there in years. They might not be willing to give up enough talent to make a deal possible though.
Cousins is averaging 16.6 points and 9.5 rebounds per game this season, but that is also in just 30.3 minutes per game. He could easily become an All-Star if he simply cared enough to dedicate more of time to becoming a better team player. The problem continues to be his attitude and that may be one of the main reasons that the Kings are getting dragged down again this season. That alone might keep another team from offering a good package of players for him.
Do you think that these 2012 NBA trade rumors about a DeMarcus Cousins trade will ever amount to anything? Could the Boston Celtics work out a deal with the Sacramento Kings before the deadline?
