NBA trade rumors about a DeMarcus Cousins trade appear to be nothing more than rumors at this point. As reported on Saturday (Dec. 29), the issues that Cousins and the team have had may indeed be in the past now.
It was just last week that Cousins was in a verbal altercation with coach Keith Smart, leading to an indefinite suspension from the team. The Sacramento Kings had grown tired of his antics and the front office wasn't going to let him undermine its coaches any longer.

Fast forward to Friday night (Dec. 28), where Cousins was back in the starting lineup and putting up some good numbers against the New York Knicks. It appeared that the team was ready to let Cousins become its star again, which in itself is probably an extremely smart move by the franchise.
Smart was quoted as saying, "Once I deal with an issue I'm done with it, I move on." If he can move on, then the Kings can move on and that should lead to more success on the court. The problem with the losses mounting up cannot be placed on the shoulder of Cousins, even if he could start playing better.
Any NBA trade rumors suggesting that the Sacramento Kings are looking to make a DeMarcus Cousins trade should be taken with several grains of salt at this point.
Do you think that a Kings team without Cousins could actually play better? If he played up to his potential, could Cousins become the best power forward in the NBA?
