The 2013 NFL power rankings place the teams in the NFL Playoffs in the top 12. Apologies to the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, and Pittsburgh Steelers, but the postseason awaits the teams that didn't choke down the stretch. The final standings give a good look at which teams are favored as well.
On Saturday (Jan. 5) the Houston Texans have to play against the Cincinnati Bengals after a pretty rough collapse at the end of the regular season. They went from being the No. 1 seed all the way down to a No. 3 that has to play on Wild Card weekend. It drops them out of the top 5 when it comes to the latest power rankings.
The hottest teams in the NFL are the New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks, and Washington Redskins. It would be easy to classify them as the top four teams out there, but unfortunately Seattle and Washington have to play each other in the first round of the playoffs (on Sunday, Jan. 6). The winner of that match-up might be place ahead of the Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers in the minds of many fans.
The expects have been weighing in on the Broncos and Patriots as teams destined to win a Super Bowl and it is hard to argue with how well Tom Brady and Peyton Manning have played for their teams. The momentum that both teams have going might be taken away a bit by the first round byes, but there are still no teams that want to face them in the 2013 NFL Playoffs.
Which two teams do you think belong at the top of the 2013 NFL power rankings? Any predictions on which two teams will meet in the Super Bowl? The current NFL playoff schedule was published on Gather to take a look at as well.
